Halfway to the Grave

Halfway to the Grave - Jeaniene Frost

I read this one a little while ago and have to say I quite enjoyed it. Cat makes for a great lead role. She’s feisty and independent, and knows how to kick a$$.

And then we have Bones.

O_O

Now, to be honest, I did want to put a gag on this guy. Though I think his ‘British accent’ may have been the main cause of that. It seemed overdone. He seemed overdone and over the top and pretty irritating. BUT … I did learn to ignore this once I’d gotten so far through, and this allowed him to grow on me a touch.

Although, I will add in that their ‘relationship’ seemed a little bit contrived, and dayam, did he fall in love with her fast. A little more time taken over that development would’ve gone a way to giving it more credence.

I think what kept me reading the most, apart from Cat’s character, was the plot and the way the story all came together, and the way Cat and Bones learned to work as a team. I wasn’t left not bothered about reading on. In fact, I was quite looking forward to book to.
