Hmmm, I’m not clear on my thoughts about this one, other than that I didn’t like it as much as the first. I found the initial 50% to be pretty dragging but read on because I’d found investment in the characters in Angel’s Blood. And the 2nd 50% of the book did pick up. But there were quite a lot of confusions that would have been enough to turn away anyone completely new to these titles if they hadn’t picked up book 1 to begin. And I totally guessed what was coming as Elena’s grand gift from Lijuan so I didn’t even have any kind of surprise moments to keep me entertained. I think with what actually happened in the book, it could have been told with a lot less words and a better pace. It will take some prompting to get me to read on in the series after this.
I’m not even sure what to rate it as I can’t quite clarify if I fully enjoyed it or not. Pretty disappointed afterI rated Angel’s Blood (book 1) 4*.
