Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian - Jennifer L. Armentrout

If Carlsberg made YA novels, they would make them just like this one …

Okay, on a more global level (not sure who’d ‘get’ that comment outside of the UK), this has got to be The. Best. YA novel I have read. To date.

Not just because of the whole alien content and the fact this is the first novel I’ve EVER read that could be considered (even remotely) sci-fi that I ENJOYED!
Or just because the plot was full of awesomeness.
And not even just because Daemon is quite possibly The. Hottest. YA dude EVER!
Or even because the sexual chemistry alone could have ignited this novel without any mojo from the ET’s.

Nope.
This book earns its ranking because of the author’s ability to weave all of that above-mentioned awesomeness into an action-packed, fast-paced, decently and maturely (unusual for a YA) written book that in no way disappoints.
Yup, you heard that right.
For the first time ever, I have not a single negative to toss into a review.
Yes, ordinarily, I’d complain about the odd typo or error I spotted or the use of present tense amongst past–but not once did any of those mar my reading pleasure.
So this beauty (and it is a beauty–make no mistake about that) well and truly deserves its five stars. Bravo!
